1. Is a license required to provide electrical services?
A state-issued electrical contracting license is required to provide electrical services. Local jurisdictions may also require a registration in order to provide electrical services. Check your states licensing board website for deatils.

2. How do I apply for the examination?
To register for the State Journeyman exam, please see the information on this site. If your state, city, or county has an exam process please apply there.

3. Application Process - How long does it take to process my application for exam?
There is no set time frame for processing an application, but it typically is processed within two weeks.


4.There is no required course to sit for the license examination. The license examination is
based on the current NEC Codes. Mike Holt offers many great online exam prep courses and we offer Zoom classes.

5. Exam Retakes - I did not pass the exam. What do I need to do to retake it?
If you did not pass the exam, then you must wait for 14 days until you can reapply. 

6. Criminal Convictions - You are not elligible to take the State Journeyman exam for other than very minor issues.

7. If your state, county, or city does not offer a licensed journeyman certification program we do. Your license will be issued in your home state or other state if apparoved.

8. Yes, if you simply are seeking a Licensed Journeyman status we can help with that and issue accordingly. 

9. Paper License - After passing your exam you will recieve an emailed wallet card and certificate to print out.

10. After passing your exam (75% minimum score) your paperwork is processed within days.

11. Reciprocity - I am licensed in another state. Do I still have to take the State Journeman exam?
An journeyman electrician licensed in another state may not need our services. See the information on the state boards website that you are intersted in.


Any individual licensed by the board of another state would not require our services unless they are seeking exam preparation needs of another state license.
